Smartwatches and other wearable devices have been around for a while now. But they’ve never caught on like they’re starting to right now. While smartwatches are still niche products, there are many more wearable devices that wearers can take advantage of.
How Important Is A Smartwatch To You?
I’ve used a few different watches, but I find smartwatches to be much more useful. The only problem is that they keep breaking and having issues. If you can figure out how to take care of it properly then your watch should last well into the foreseeable future (except for very rare cases). So if you’re looking at buying one, don’t buy what’s available now; pick up something like the Kore 2.0 Utilice instead. Long er battery life, easy to charge and revive a comfortable leather band. The style of the Moto 360 is ideal for me as well due to its classic proportions that some other smartwatches had trouble keeping up with (this one had trouble keeping everything together). I would like to point out a few other things to consider.
1. Fitness and Health:
This is perhaps the biggest trend. A lot of people who use wearable devices to track their activity and maintain healthy habits, like sleep monitoring, stride rate tracking for running, heart-rate monitor fitness apps, wear a smartwatch too.
Combine the health tracking with smartwatch features like vibration notification, text alerts to remind you of calls or messages, built-in GPS for running, etc. and there are plenty of ways that a smartwatch can improve your life.
2. Play Music:
Back in the day when I carried around a music player to listen to my favorite songs, there was no better device than the humble Sony Walkman. Now that MP3 players are mostly outdated anyway, you’d be surprised at how much more portable exercise trackers are becoming. And although software still has major flaws these devices have come far enough for many people who don’t want bigger smartphone screens encumbering their wrists.
3. Stay social:
With the rise of simple messaging apps like WhatsApp, Viber or Messenger Apple has put a lot more attention on their watch software. A text message pops up on your phone notifying you that it’s time to answer something important with all eyes watching you instead of some other watches since there are no cords involved in handling these messages. With the new chip technology, just think of them as more powerful PCs, making smartphones faster and more energy-efficient, there’s no real reason to use a phone for GPS anymore. In fact, some phones now include integrated GPS over cellular connections (AWS & GSM). But those feature lists from your mobile carrier alone don’t make Garmin, Tom-tom, or other gadget manufacturers’ wearable devices good choices either.
Smartwatches are a great way to stay connected to your phone and keep track of what’s happening on the go. But, if you’re really interested in keeping tabs on your health, fitness, or sleep patterns, you may want to invest in a smartwatch that does all of this for you. If you don’t need any of these features, there are plenty of alternatives available at much lower prices. However, if you do want one with these features or something similar, it’s important to know how they work and which ones offer the best value for money.
